The paper presents an evaluation of the activities of the Belarusian small and medium-sized enterprises in 2013 - 2014 г. The results of these activities in common are inconsistent.

On the one hand, small and medium business are gradually reasserting its positions, that were lost in 2011, and in many cases, is optimistic about the prospects for their activities. On the other hand, the pace of development of domestic entrepreneurship remains low, and therefore not clear whether the Belarusian SMEs play an important role in the national economy.
