Life after death. What will replace oil? A discussion with Mikhail Krutikhin

Within the Kastryčnicki Economic Forum, IDEA Online Magazine jointly with IPM Research Center invite those interested to take part in the discussion with Mikhail Krutikhin, one of the leading Russian oil and gas experts.

Mikhail Krutikhin, PhD Hist., is a Middle East expert and has been involved as an oil and gas investment expert in former Soviet countries. Since 2002, Mr. Krutikhin has been a Partner of RusEnergy Consultancy and wrote for Moscow Carnegie Center,, Vedomosti, Republic and other Media outlets.

The conversation between the IDEA Online Magazine and Mikhail Krutikhin will focus on how long oil and gas will continue to fuel the world economy and what will replace them in the future. Will hydrocarbons disappear altogether or they will take a different niche?  What are the implications for the global economy? What main electricity sources will exist in 20, 50 and 100 years time? What corresponding innovations already exist and are still expected? How will it all impact the economies of energy supplying countries and, specifically Russia? And, finally, what has to be done today not to be pushed out to progress periphery tomorrow?
